I brought in my grandfather's Seiko from the 1970s — it had stopped running years ago and I was worried nothing could be done. Kanya looked at it carefully and explained exactly what she found before touching anything. The overhaul took about three weeks and it came back running well, with the timing results printed on a card. I felt properly informed throughout.

Straightforward from start to finish. I booked an inspection for my daily watch, which had started losing a few minutes a week. The assessment was quick, the report clear, and the light service brought it back to within a few seconds a day. Reasonable price, honest timeline — what more could you ask for.

Good work, explained clearly. They took a little longer than the initial estimate — something to do with a worn jewel — but called to let me know before doing anything extra, which I appreciated. The watch is now running as it should. The only small thing is the workshop is slightly difficult to park near on busy days, but nothing serious.

Nong Khai

I drove from Nong Khai specifically because someone recommended Thida for antique work. I had a French pocket watch from the early 1900s and was anxious about it being touched at all. Suphat was careful to explain every decision — nothing was done without my agreement. It took about seven weeks and arrived back in wonderful condition. Worth every baht.

Nisa was kind and patient when I explained I knew very little about watches. She translated the technical findings into ordinary language so I could actually understand what was happening with my husband's old automatic. The movement overhaul was thorough and the price matched what they quoted. Really glad I came here rather than a general jeweller.

Two watches serviced now, both with good results. The second time, I came in knowing what to expect from the process, which made things even easier. The light service suited one watch well; the other needed more work and they recommended the overhaul honestly rather than starting small and escalating later.

Case Studies

Three Watches, Three Stories

Movement Overhaul — Swiss Automatic, 1968

The Situation

A client brought in a Swiss automatic inherited from his father. It had last been serviced in the 1990s and was running approximately 4 minutes fast per day. He wasn't sure if it was worth the cost of a full overhaul.

What We Did

After the assessment, we recommended a full overhaul. The movement was disassembled and cleaned ultrasonically. The mainspring had weakened and was renewed. The balance staff was intact and the escapement was in good condition. Three weeks total.

The Outcome

The watch returned running within +5 seconds per day across multiple positions. The client was given the timing sheet and old mainspring. He said it was now the watch he wore every day, which felt like the right result.

"I expected them to just fix it and hand it back. The level of explanation and documentation surprised me — in a good way."

Antique Restoration — English Pocket Watch, circa 1912

The Situation

A collector brought in an early 20th-century English full-plate pocket watch that had not run in at least thirty years. The enamel dial had a hairline crack, and she was concerned about whether any restoration would diminish its value.

What We Did

We discussed the dial crack at length and agreed to leave it untouched — any repair would have been more visible than the crack itself. The movement was overhauled using period methods and appropriate lubricants. Case cleaning was conservative. Eight weeks in total.

The Outcome

The movement ran reliably within acceptable tolerance for its age and design. The collector was pleased that the dial decision was left entirely to her. The watch retained its character and now runs for display and occasional wear.

"They understood that not every old watch needs to be made to look new. That's exactly the attitude I was hoping for."
